How to choose the correct electroplating power supply equipment

Time:2023-12-01 10:49Hits:258

Electroplating power supply is the power frequency alternating current into different voltage, frequency and waveform of direct current equipment. Determining how large and what kind of power supply a plating type and all its plating tanks should be configured is the first important work in the implementation of electroplating production. First of all, it is necessary to know the three conditions for the selection of electroplating power supply equipment.

First: to meet the requirements of the electroplating process specifications, including the power size of the power supply, waveform indicators, current and voltage value adjustable range;

Second: the reliable performance of the power supply itself, which mainly refers to the rationality of the structure, safety and line characteristics, cooling methods, etc.;

Third: to consider its price performance ratio.

Determining how large and what kind of power supply a plating type and all its plating tanks should be configured is the first important work in the implementation of electroplating production. There are two ways to determine the electroplating power supply in actual production: one is to determine the volume current density method according to the bath capacity; The other is the current density per unit area method calculated according to the plated area.

The so-called volume current density is to adjust the current intensity that the entire plating bath needs to pass according to the maximum current allowed through per liter of plating solution, so as to determine the maximum output power and conventional output power of the power supply to be used. Copper plating is generally 0.2 ~ 0.3A/L, nickel plating is 0.1 ~ 2.5A/L, bright nickel plating is 0.3 ~ 0.35A/L, acidic zinc plating is 0.5 ~ 0.6A/L, alkaline zinc plating can reach 1.2A/L, chromium plating is 2 ~ 3A/L. Taking bright nickel plating as an example, the maximum process current of 600L plating solution can reach 0.3A/L×600L=180A, so 200A power supply can be selected.

The maximum current can also be calculated according to the plating area. Taking chromium plating as an example, if it is a 600L plating solution, at 60 ° C, the maximum allowable current density is 100A/dm2, assuming that the plating tank can be plated 10dm2 when fully loaded, the required power supply maximum output current is 100A/dm2×10dm2=1000A, that is, to configure 1000A, 18V rectifier power supply.

After determining the power of the power supply. Electroplating power supply also according to the needs of the electroplating process and the conditions of the electroplating site to choose the waveform of the electroplating power supply, cooling mode, volume size and corrosion resistance, including the cost factor is only balanced.
